April’s installment in the Mahoosuc Land Trust’s “This Is Your Backyard” speaker series will feature a young man from our own neighborhood, Max Southam, who will share how “Your Backyard Dream Gets Real.”
Max began biking at the age of four. He is now a senior at Gould Academy and has been a four-year member of the mountain biking and road biking teams. Wanting to do something epic for his Senior 4 Point, Max started to research doing the Tour Divide, a 2700 mile mountain bike race that starts in Banff, Canada and ends in Antelope Wells, N.M.
During the summer of 2014, Max realized this dream as he and his father Peter biked the Continental Divide. Max will share the story of planning and executing this adventure on Wednesday, April 8 at 7 p.m. in McLaughlin Auditorium on the Gould Academy Campus. Please come and be inspired by how Max lived this dream.
