Newry selectmen name Amy Bernard new Town Administrator


The Board of Selectmen of Newry announced Friday they plan to appoint Amy Bernard as Town Administrator. Bernard, who for the past three years has held the position of Town Manager of Paris, Maine, will join the Newry staff in January 2016. “We are pleased to find someone with Amy’s experience and training,” said Board Chairman Gary Wight. “She has a strong academic and town management background. We look forward to hercontinuing to help us provide outstanding services to our taxpayers and community.” Before joining the Town of Newry, Amy spent three years as Paris Town Manager, and four years as Town Manager in Wayne, Maine.

Bernard has a BA in Political Science and History from the University of Maine at Farmington and a Masters in Public Administration from the University of Maine. She, her partner Tim and young son Gage live in Rumford.
