Workshop on Medicine Wheel

An Introductory Workshop on the Philosophy of the “Medicine Wheel,” also sometimes known as “The Secrets of the Sacred Four.”
This workshop is an encounter with the wisdom and teachings of traditional Native American Tribes of both North and South America.
Participants will be introduced to an unfamiliar philosophy of life, that of the traditional Native American peoples of our land. Participants should be receptive and open-minded as to acquiring knowledge, ideas and a different way of looking at life and the world. Participants may be guided as to how to use the teachings of the Medicine Wheel in daily life.
Some material about the Medicine Wheel will be furnished as handouts, but participants may find it helpful to have a notebook on had for personal notes. If there is interest, in follow-up workshops participants could be invited to participate in various rituals that are part of the Medicine Wheel Teachings.
Sister Bernadette Gautreau, who is a Native American Consultant will be the workshop facilitator. She has had 50 years of experience among the Cree Indians of the Little Red River Nation in Northern Alberta Canada.
This workshop will take place on Saturday, Oct. 8 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., with a break for lunch, in the dining room of the Bethel United Methodist Church located at 79 Main Street. There is no admission fee. However, there will be a love offering available.
If there are any questions, call 824-2027. This very interesting workshop is open to the community.
